Precise Locate Inc. locates utilities underground outside and inside under slab concrete. We also offer troubleshooting techniques to find problems in piping such as sewer, and also broken electrical lines, and faults in them. We use Radio Inductive and Conductive Locating Equipment, as well as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to provide precise & accurate utility locating services including: utility design & remodeling services, construction design services, positive utility location services for engineering (Civil, Utility & Consulting), fault finding in electrical cables & underground shorts, new construction utility location services, infastructure services and water and piping location services.

We utilize the most up to date equipment and are frequently calibrated to ensure accurate locates. Precise Locate Inc. also has a non-metallic water line locator that utilizes a ¾ hose bib set up to pulsate water and we can listen to find it in the ground using a sensitive listening device. This is mainly used on hydrants, hose bibs, to locate plastic, asbestos, or other non-metallic piping.  We use equipment that will reach deeply buried utilities to shallow ones and mark them accurately on the surface.

Also added to the arsenal of locating equipment January 2009 is the Ground Penetrating Radar Unit for which we can detect voids, tanks, non-metallic utilities underground, and in concrete inside or outside buildings visually seeing the utility underground in most instances and verifying the depths of them along with our other metallic locating equipment for directional boring, ditch digging projects, designing, and environmental excavations. This is a valuable asset as it will aid in ensuring damage free locating, and additional information of an area about to be built upon, excavating, and troubleshooting problems with storm and sanitary sewer lines. Soil types and compaction of the soils determine visibility of unknown utilities that may be seen with the GPR unit. This machine gives views below the surface, showing where an excavation  has been made , (disturbed origional soil) and how deep the actual utility is placed.  The GPR also will show in most cases how much fill has been added to an area that may have been built up at some point and time, along with possible rock, trash and other debris that may cause problems where suitable soil is an issue.  Typically, sandy soil  produces the best view for the Ground Penetrating Radar, and hard compact soil show less.  Experience using this technical equipment is a must to be successful.  Precise Locate Inc. is a proven skilled company that knows what we are doing, taking on the worst of the most congested areas locating the lifelines of facilities as well as spotting any abandoned utilities in the areas that the digging crews would run across that would not know weather they were live or abandoned meaning less downtime from surprises.
